Fundamentals of Painting
Watercolor, Oil, and Acrylic
January 14, 21, 28 & February 4, 2012 (9:00-Noon)
Tuition $255
Through lecture and demonstration, Gary will explain the virtues of each medium and the techniques he uses to create expressive paintings. While techniques vary slightly with each medium, you learn how Gary uses a very similar approach to painting whether it is in watercolor, oil, or acrylic. As always his emphasis is on painting expressively and being more lyrical than literal in the interpretation of the subject. Use the medium of your choice, or come prepared to paint in all three, as Gary gives individual as well as group instruction. His demonstrations will include paintings in each of the three media.

Experience the joy of painting on location. Each day begins with a demonstration and lecture relative to the challenges of painting on location. Participants paint on location while I circulate and give individual instruction. The day ends with a critique of participants work as well as my own.
